The housing (10) has a retainer for retaining a threaded pin formed by a recess (30) in housing wall sections, where the housing is formed from a single-piece, curved sheet metal plate cut. The recess is formed by the housing wall sections that are adjacent to each other. Boundary of the recess is section-wise formed by edges of the house wall sections. A thread of the retainer is formed by partial sections of the boundary of the recess at the housing wall sections, and remaining partial sections of the boundary of the recess lie outside the outside diameter of the thread of the retainer. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing housings for electricity installations.
