The method involves supplying supply voltage to an electronic module (2) of a vehicle (10), and detecting information when supply voltage is switched off. The supply voltage of the electronic module is maintained, and a control signal is outputted to the electronic module, where the control signal informs the electronic module that the supply voltage is switched off. Transient values of the electronic module are stored in a non-volatile memory (17), and the supply voltage is switched off over a preset time interval after receiving the information. An independent claim is also included for a system for storing transient values comprising an electronic module coupled with a voltage output of a supply voltage supplying device.
