The mechanism has a control pin with an unlatching zone, latching zone and a pin extension (24) gripping an upper housing wall (12). A mutual arrangement of the pin, rotary handle and a latch lever (32) is equipped such that the handle is held at the pin extension in a release position, and the lever is held in an unlatching position. The handle presses the extension into a housing during transferring from the release position into switching on position such that the lever in engagement with the latching zone passes into latching position. The zones are formed as cylindrical main bodies.
