The centering aid (1) is for fixing a flange (2) to a pipe (3) with base body (4) and endfaces (12, 13), in one of which (12) there is a recess in the form of a segment of a cylinder. The jacket surface of this recess has one or more incisions (7), by means of which the flange can be welded to the pipe. There are fixing devices (8) for the flange.
