Dec. 16, 1944, No. 25266.[Class 114] A propulsion device for ships comprises a chamber 2 in which fuel is burnt to evaporate water in chambers 1, 3 respectively surrounded by and surrounding the chamber 2. The burnt gases in the chamber 2 exercise an ejector action on the steam in the chambers 1, 3 and the combustion products and steam mix in a chamber 5 before passing to nozzles 9, 10 arranged for forward and reverse propulsion and controlled by a valve 7. A turbine 6 beyond the chamber 5 drives the fuel and air pumps.</p> |
