<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display that reduces influence on an image pickup device, which is caused by light of a backlight. <P>SOLUTION: The display includes: an interspace between a pair of transparent substrates 10(10a, 10b) injected with a liquid crystal material 16; an image pickup part having an image pickup device 32 and a lens 30 which are opposed in contact with a rear face 12 of any one of the transparent substrates 10 on a display side of the liquid crystal material 16 and a front face 14 of the same; and a sheet-formed light-guide member 40 introducing light from a point light source 20 and radiating light from a light emission surface to the liquid crystal material 16. The image pickup device 32 is disposed so that its imaging direction is a direction for it to contact the first transparent substrate 10a. The lens 30 is disposed corresponding to the imaging direction of the image pickup device 32.
