PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera by which an image of an already moved subject is obtained without taking unwanted images to the utmost even if the subject moves suddenly while taking a still picture. SOLUTION: When it is detected that acceleration in a horizontal direction of the camera 1 shows a prescribed value or more in a still picture taking mode, the operation mode of the camera 1 is switched from the still picture taking mode to a moving picture taking mode. With the operation mode of the camera 1 switched to the moving picture taking mode, a movement of the subject which has moved suddenly is captured as a moving picture. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
