PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new technique capable of obtaining the same excellent recording quality in the overlapped part of nozzles formed at the end of a recording head as that in the other parts. SOLUTION: A test image based on a plurality of test pattern information pieces is recorded on a roll sheet of paper by one recording operation (S102) and read by a CCD camera (S104). Each test pattern image included in the test image read by the CCD camera is analyzed to select specific test pattern information suitable for each nozzle overlapped part (S106 and S108: No) and pattern constituting information coincident with the selected specific test pattern information is stored in a non-volatile memory (S110).
