摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light emitting device excellent in uniformity and for emitting light with high luminance. <P>SOLUTION: The surface light emitting device includes a light guide plate 1 having a light emitting surface 13 and a reflection surface 12, a reflection sheet 3 arranged on the reflection surface of the light guide plate, and an LED light source that includes at least one LED element 2 and is provided so that the light emitted form the LED element enters through an incident end surface of the light guide plate. The light guide plate has one recess to one LED element on the reflection surface side just anterior to the LED light source. The recess has a width W in a width direction of the light guide plate is equal to or larger than the dimension of a light emitting surface 21 of the opposing LED element, and a height(depth) H from the reflection surface in the thickness direction of the light guide plate does not overlap a region opposed to the light emitting surface of the opposing LED element. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
