<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner which reduces inclination of a rotary shaft of a scanner motor, while improving printing quality, and to provide an image forming apparatus using the optical scanner. <P>SOLUTION: An optical deflector 42 has a circuit which controls rotary driving of a rotary polygon mirror 82, a motor base plate 87 on which notch parts 1 are formed, a plurality of protrusive fixed seating surfaces 3 in an optical box 31 for fixing a motor base plate 87, and a plurality of abutting seating surfaces 4 having larger protrusion toward the side of the motor base plate 87 than the fixed seating surfaces 3 at a distance closer than the fixed seating surfaces 3 which is closest to the rotary center of the rotary polygon mirror 82. The distance between the rotary center of the rotary polygon mirror 82 and the notched parts 1 is shorter than the distance between the rotary center of the rotary polygon mirror 82 and the closest fixed seating surface 3 of the plurality of the fixed seating surfaces 3, and farther than the distance between the rotary center of the rotary polygon mirror 82 and the farthest abutting seating surface 4 of the plurality of abutting seating surfaces 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
