PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of highly maintaining the reliability of information obtained from a light emitting element and a light receiving sensor by accurately adjusting the light emitting element and the light receiving sensor, even in such a situation that the light emission intensity of the light emitting element and the light receiving sensitivity of the light receiving sensor are changed due to the fact that the ink mist is adhered or the like to the light emitting element and the light receiving sensor. SOLUTION: The light receiving sensitivity of a light receiving element is adjusted based on the known light emission intensity of the light emitting element (first light emitting element) arranged in a new ink tank and then, the light emission intensity of the light emitting element (second light emitting element) of another ink tank whose light emission intensity is unknown is corrected. Thus, even in such a situation that the ink mist adheres to the light emitting part of the ink tank and a light receiving part in a device body, the reliability of the information obtained by the light emitting part and the light receiving part can be highly maintained.
