PHOTOCATALYST COATING SOLUTION HAVING EXCELLENT RESPONSE TO VISIBLE LIGHT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating solution that can form a transparent photocatalyst thin film having a strong response to both of ultraviolet rays and visible light by preventing reduction of photocatalytic activity caused by a binder component. SOLUTION: The photocatalyst coating solution containing a photocatalyst and binder component is characterized in that the binder component contains a water-soluble titanium compound. The photocatalyst thin film formed on a substrate contains the photocatalyst and the binder composed of amorphous titanium compounds. The method for forming the photocatalyst thin film is characterized by coating the surface of the substrate with the coating solution to form a coating film and drying the obtained coating film at 80-110°C.
