PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy-to-use compact container providing a wide field of vision through a mirror. SOLUTION: The compact container includes: a container body 1 having a storing surface 1f for storing contents, wherein the depth dimension L<SB>Y</SB>of the storing surface 1f is different from the width dimension L<SB>X</SB>; and a lid 2 having a fitting surface 2f for covering the storing surface 1f and the mirror M arranged on the fitting surface 2f. The lid 2 is connected through a hinge part 3 so as to be inverted around a pin P<SB>1</SB>, so that visibility is achieved through the mirror M when the compact is opened by inverting the lid 2. The container body 1 is formed in a rectangle having the depth dimension L<SB>Y</SB>longer than the width dimension L<SB>X</SB>. The hinge part 3 is rotatably pivoted on the storing surface 1f through a pin P<SB>2</SB>at a position displaced to one side in the depth direction on the storing surface 1f.
