PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow fiber membrane module capable of suppressing elution of inorganic substances and organic substances without executing special treatment and executing filtration while demonstrating high filtration performance, and a method of manufacturing the module. SOLUTION: The hollow fiber membrane module incorporates a hollow fiber membrane filter 4 in which a plurality of hollow fiber membranes 1 comprising polyolefin are bound and the side of the bound end parts 1a of the hollow fiber membranes 1 are potted. In the hollow fiber membrane module, the hollow fiber membrane 1 is provided by additive-free polyolefin not containing an additive which elutes the inorganic substances and/or organic substances such as a neutralizing agent, an antioxidant or a photostabilizer.
