PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infrared spectrophotometer in which a deliquescent but inexpensive material is used for window material of a light transmissive window provided at a drying chamber within the infrared spectrophotometer and the light transmissive window formed of the deliquescent material is prevented from deliquescence. SOLUTION: Air temperature near the side of an outer surface in a sealed chamber 1 of a light transmissive window 8 is raised by a heater 22. Thereby, the air temperature at the portion becomes higher than the temperature of ambient atmosphere and relative humidity decreases, therefore, the light transmissive window 8 of the deliquescent optical material can be prevented from deliquescence. Furthermore, an enclosure 21 enclosing a circumference of the side of the outer surface in the sealed chamber 1 of the light transmissive window 8 is provided and thus the heater 22 easily raises the air temperature near the side of the outer surface in the sealed chamber 1 of the light transmissive window 8, thereby the air humidity at the portion is easily lowered and air turbulence near the light transmissive window 8 is prevented even when air flow causes a turbulence in the apparatus during changing a sample, etc. and the humidity near the light transmissive window 8 is kept lower.
