The invention relates to a lock to be inserted and attached inside an antitheft body (1) for a motor vehicle, including: a stator (3) inside which is a rotatably movable rotor (4), said stator (3) comprising a means for attaching to said antitheft body (1); a cover plate (10) for the rotor (4) attached to the front surface of said stator (3), said cover plate (10) having an opening (14) for a key for engaging with said rotor (4) to pass therethrough; an anti-dismantling means supported by said cover plate (10) and said stator (3) for attaching said cover plate (10) to said stator (3) and axially retaining said rotor (4) in said stator (3), characterised in that said anti-dismantling means is configured so as to axially lock said cover plate (10) on said stator (3) by positioning said cover plate (10) on said stator (3) and then pivoting on said stator (3). The invention also relates to an antitheft device for a motor vehicle, comprising an antitheft body (1) and a lock (2) received in said antitheft body (1) as described above.
