<p>The invention relates to a rotary lobe pump (100) for conveying a fluid medium containing solids, comprising an inlet opening (111) and an outlet opening (112) for the medium being conveyed, two rotary lobes (121, 122) arranged in a pump casing (140) and having rotary lobe vanes engaging with other, wherein each of the two rotary lobes is fixed torque-resistantly on a respective shaft (131) and can be driven by said respective shaft, and wherein the two shafts are coupled to each other by a transmission gear arranged in a gearbox casing (152).
