PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration of a good appearance due to adherence of dust of the first coating applied to the outer panel surface of a car body to the third coating film on the inner panel surface by means of a simple configuration. SOLUTION: A method of coating a car body includes the first coating film formation process K1 of applying the first coating to the outer plate surface 2 of a car body formed with a substrate coating film 4 so as to form the first coating film 5 having a substrate-concealing property, and the second coating film formation process K2 of applying the second coating onto the first coating film 5 formed so as to form the second coating film 6 having a substrate-concealing property weaker than that of the first coating film 5 and developing, alone or together with the first coating film 5, an appearance color of the coating film; and also has the third coating film formation process K3 of applying the third coating to the inner panel surface 3, at least after the first coating film formation process K1, so as to form the third coating film 7 developing an appearance color of the coating film equal or close to the appearance color of the film on side of the outer plate 2.
