摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forging material for an automobile suspension arm having high rigidity and capable of attaining light weight when it is used as the automatic suspension arm. SOLUTION: The forging material 1 for the automobile suspension arm comprises: a forged article including an arm part 2; an approximately cylindrical ball joint part 3 having a ball support hole 4 supported with a ball stud bolt 21 at one end side of the arm part 2; and an approximately cylindrical bushing press-insertion part 5 having a bushing press-insertion hole 6 press-inserted with a bushing 22 at the other end side of the arm part 2. The arm part 2 has a thickness reduction part 7 that thickness is reduced in an axial direction, and it has a parting line PL, i.e., a trimming surface of a burr generated at forging on the arm part 2, the ball joint part 3 and the bushing press-insertion part 5.
