PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a member suitable for a body structure and an integrated building frame structure of a column section, because surface hardening-worked timber obtained by applying spiral compression to an equal-diameter thinned wood log of Japanese cedar absorbs complex energy and exerts a relaxation action effect. SOLUTION: The surface hardening-worked timber made of the equal-diameter thinned wood log of the Japanese cedar is characterized in that consideration is given to a building frame structure of a combination which achieves great durability for earthquake resistance brought about by complex energy and gravity of vertical weighting.
