<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chill block that properly prevents spouting of molten metal as well as preventing own damage. <P>SOLUTION: The chill block 7 is installed on a degassing passage 5 communicating between the cavity 3 of a die 10 and a decompression source 6. In the chill block 7, there are formed: a branching part 91 that branches the molten metal flowed in the chill block 7 into two directions nearly vertical to the flowing direction of the molten metal; a confluence part 92 that makes confluent again the molten metal branched into two directions by the branching part 91; and two communication passages 83, 84 that communicate with the branching part 91 and the confluence part 92. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
