<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating oil composition capable of achieving satisfactory wear resistance and oxidation stability. <P>SOLUTION: The lubricating oil composition contains: a lubricating base oil, which has≥90 mass% saturated component, a cyclic saturated component accounting for≤60 mass% of the saturated component and≥100 viscosity index; and the alkanoyl borate shown by general formula (1) (wherein R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>may be the same or different from each other and are each a hydrogen atom or a 1-30C alkyl or alkenyl group).
