Said detector comprises at least one radiation source (1) and at least one detector element (3) which are arranged relative to the web of paper (1) in a position of reflection, the at least one radiation source (2) emitting a wavelength for which at least one component of the web of paper (1) has a strong absorptivity. The output of the detector element (3) is connected to the input of a comparative device which produces a paper break signal when the intensity measured by the detector element (3) exceeds a threshold value. |
