<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an image defect caused by hollow character by supplying a hollow character preventing agent from a developing device to a photoreceptor drum neither too much nor too little in accordance with toner consumption. <P>SOLUTION: The toner consumption per fixed driving time is obtained by a toner consumption detection part 61 on the basis of the counted number of dots of image data and the driving time of the image forming apparatus, which are detected by a dot counter 51 and a driving time detection part 52. A decision part 62 obtains the supply amount of the hollow character preventing agent to the photoreceptor drum from the toner consumption, and decides whether the supply amount satisfies a predetermined threshold. When deciding that the supply amount does not satisfy the predetermined threshold, a replenishment control part 63 actuates a hollow character preventing agent replenishment driving part 80 so as to replenish the developing device with the hollow character preventing agent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
