PURPOSE: A method of manufacturing a protective cover for a pillar structure and a pillar structure are provided to achieve simplified assembly of a protective cover to a pillar structure in which both sides of the cover body are fixed with joint pads and fixing pins. CONSTITUTION: A method of manufacturing a protective cover for a pillar structure is as follows. A thermoplastic resin sheet(C) is prepared and heated simultaneously from the top at 180~350°C and from the bottom at 150~330°C for 15~35 seconds. In order the thermoplastic resin sheet wraps around a pillar structure, the pressure between the heated thermoplastic resin sheet and a lower die(175) is lowered and the lower die is pressed to an upper plug(173) so that the thermoplastic resin sheet is molded in a vacuum. The vacuum-molded product(C') is cut to the length corresponding to a unit protective cover body. The cut product is finished.
