An open roof construction for a vehicle comprises a stationary roof part (1), a roof opening provided therein and a panel (2) which is slideable for opening and closing said roof opening. The panel and stationary roof part are provided with a pin (3) and curve (5) assembly for guiding and locking the panel in its closing position. The curve (5) is provided with an extension part (6) projecting from the curve for engaging the arriving pin (3) and leading it into the curve (5), said extension part (6) being movable between an extended position when the panel is in its opening position and a collapsed position when the panel is in its closing position. |
