PURPOSE: An information processing unit for reducing the power consumption by the use of a deep sleep mode is provided to actively transmit a network packet from the information processing unit. CONSTITUTION: A CPU(Central Processing Unit)(201) executes each control process by a control program of a ROM(Read Only Memory)(203). The CPU transmits data to an MFP(Multi-Function Printer) through an expansion I/F(interface). The MFP processes printing operation. An LED(Light Emitting Diode)(205) indicates the operation state of an NIC(Network Interface Card). The expansion I/F connects the NIC and the MFP.
