PURPOSE: A variable valve is provided to enhance the noise performance by relatively decreasing the opened displacement of a valve member in low and middle speed areas of an engine and to decrease the back pressure by relatively increasing the opened displacement of the valve member in middle and high speed areas of the engine. CONSTITUTION: A variable valve is composed of a bracket(10), a valve member(20), and a torsion spring(30). The bracket comprises an opening(11). The valve member opens and closes the opening of the bracket. The torsion spring makes the valve member operate in the direction of closing the opening. The torsion spring comprises first and second legs(31,32). The first leg is supported by the bracket. The second leg comprises two or more contact units. The contact unit can make contact with the valve member. Two or more contact units make contact with the valve member with different angles.
