摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dead time setting method capable of setting a favorable value for each motor control device without measuring any characteristic of a motor-driving FET. SOLUTION: A dead time setting device successively selects one dead time from a plurality of dead time set values Dn (S12, S22), sets the selected dead time to a motor controlled and drives a motor (S14), detects the magnitude of the torque (S16), calculates the magnitude of the torque ripple based on the magnitude (S18), and stores it (S20), selects the dead time when the torque ripple is minimum (S24), and finally sets the value to the motor control device (S26). Thus, a favorable value for each motor control device according to dispersion of the characteristics of the FET can be easily set at low cost without using any measuring method hardly to measure the characteristics of the motor driving FET.
