The roller test bed, for a motor vehicle (2), has at least one powered roller to rotate a vehicle wheel. A catch net assembly (3) is in front of the vehicle, with a tensed net (3.1) to catch and hold the vehicle if in an uncontrolled movement. The catch net assembly is deployed on vehicle movement hydraulically, pneumatically, electromechanically or mechanically e.g. by a threaded spindle and/or pyrotechnically.
