摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monolayer electrophotographic photoreceptor which effectively suppresses the occurrence of a back spot in a high-temperature high-humidity environment, while effectively holding superior sensitivity characteristics, even in a high-temperature high-humidity environment, and to provide an image forming apparatus which uses the same. SOLUTION: The monolayer electrophotographic photoreceptor includes an intermediate layer and a photosensitive layer on a substrate, and the image forming apparatus uses this photoreceptor. The intermediate layer contains a binder resin and titanium oxide fine particles, and the titanium oxide fine particles have the characteristics: (a) a number average primary particle size of the titanium oxide fine particles is within a range of 5 to 30 nm; (b) the titanium oxide fine particles are subjected to surface treatment with alumina and silica; and organic silicon compound, and (c) a weight ratio X (wt.%) of the organic silicon compound on surfaces of the titanium oxide fine particles satisfies formula (1): 1(wt.%)≤X<4 (wt.%).
