<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultra-low power IR-UWB transmitting and receiving apparatus which is non-coherent on the receiver side while achieving low power consumption, a longer battery period, and a low duty cycle. <P>SOLUTION: The ultra-low power IR-UWB transmitting and receiving apparatus which generates an IR-UWB pulse sequence and is for use in IR-UWB communication, includes: a modulation means that modulates an input data bit; an oscillation signal generation means that generates a sine wave signal and oscillates according to a central frequency given by a lookup table; and a superimposing means that superimposes a triangular waveform created based on triggering of the signal output from the modulation means and obtains a composed pulse waveform (oscillation output and triangular waveform) which has a bandwidth of 500 MHz and a central frequency varying within 14 sub-bands. Frequency hopping within the 14 sub-bands is performed by the elements of MDS codewords where a different codeword is assigned per different device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
