PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base station selecting method that achieves improvement in estimation accuracy of the position of a wireless terminal, and to provide a wireless communication terminal. SOLUTION: The wireless communication terminal 2 includes a wireless communication part 11 that receives radio waves, including position information of each of a plurality of base stations 3 from among a plurality of base stations 3; a receiving strength acquiring part 12 that acquires a receiving the intensity of received radio waves for each base station 3 received by the wireless communication part 11 from the plurality of base stations 3; a reference base station selecting part 34A, that selects one base station 3 of which the strength of the received radio waves acquired by the receiving-strength acquiring part 12 are the strongest, as the reference base station from among the plurality of base stations 3 whose radio waves are received by the wireless communication part 11; and a near base station selecting part 34B that selects the base station 3 near the reference base station as a near base station from among the plurality of base stations 3, whose radio waves are received by the wireless communication part 11. The reference base station of which the intensity of the received radio wave is the strongest and near the base station close to the reference base station are selected as a plurality of base stations 3 for estimating the position of the wireless communication terminal 2.
