PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing member for an electrolytic capacitor that reduces permeation at a sealing part for an electrolyte by improvement in airtightness of the member for the electrolytic capacitor to have a small decrease in airtightness when left at high temperature and to prolong the life of the electrolytic capacitor, and can recycle vulcanized rubber to reduce an environmental load. SOLUTION: A kneaded product is prepared by kneading granular vulcanized rubber depolymerized through physical or chemical processing, unvulcanized plastic rubber, and a vulcanizer, and molded/vulcanized into a predetermined shape to obtain a sealing member which is increased in crosslinking density and has high hardness. The sealing member has a small decrease in hardness, especially, at high temperature and keeps airtightness when used for an electrolytic capacitor, thereby providing the sealing member which is effective in prolonging the life of the electrolytic capacitor.
