<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain high conversion efficiency of non-linear optical crystals and to stably use the non-linear optical crystals for a long period without reducing outputs when various non-linear optical crystals for non-linear wavelength conversion, such as a CLBO crystal, are used for converting the wavelength of a laser beam. <P>SOLUTION: Before actually using a non-linear optical crystal as a wavelength conversion element, the non-linear optical crystal is previously evaluated, wherein the non-linear optical crystal is moved to change a position on which a laser beam is made incident and the output of a laser beam emitted from the non-linear optical crystal on each changed position is detected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
