<p>An apparatus for accurately determining the optical density of a liquid sample is provided. The apparatus comprises a light source(20) for emitting a divergent beam, a photo detector(80) for detecting a measuring beam, a cuvette(70) positioned between the said light source(20) and the said photo detector(80) for holding a liquid sample whose opical density is to be measured and an optical assembly(40) placed in an optical path between the said light source(20) and the said cuvette(70) for receiving the divergent beam and directing an illuminating beam onto the said cuvette(70), the said illuminating beam being at an incident angle of zero degree with respect to the cuvette(70).</p> |
