PURPOSE:To obtain a stable operation by supporting the carrier of a planetary- gear reduction gear integrally formed with the clutch outer of an overrunning clutch on an armature rotary shaft with a bearing while bringing a clutch inner into contact with the bearing via a spacer portion. CONSTITUTION:A DC motor 21 having an armature rotary shaft 21a, an output rotary shaft 22 which is slidably inserted into the armature rotary shaft 21a, a planetary-gear reduction gear 24 for reducing the speed of rotation of the armature rotary shaft 21a, and an overrunning clutch device 25 for transmitting the rotation of the armature rotary shaft 21a which is transmitted via the planetary-gear reduction gear 24 to the output rotary shaft 22 are provided on a coaxial type starter device 20. In this structure, a ball bearing 29 is fitted to the carrier 24c of the reduction gear 24, while being installed on the small diameter step portion 30 of the armature rotary shaft 21a. A spacer portion 32 is provided between the clutch inner 25b of the clutch device 25 and the ball bearing 29. |
