PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel position detector capable of communicating between a trigger machine and a transceiver without the need of support such as dedicated design and multiple channels even if a noise occurs from an accessory of an own vehicle, and a tire air pressure detector including the wheel position detector. SOLUTION: A receiver 3 causes the trigger machine 5 to output a noise intensity measurement instruction signal containing a noise intensity measurement command, and causes the transceiver 2 to receive the noise intensity measurement instruction signal, thereby permitting a noise intensity to be measured in a plurality of predetermined frequency bands. In addition, noise intensity data indicating the noise intensity is output from the transceiver 2. A frequency of a trigger signal is determined based on the noise intensity in the plurality of frequency bands indicated by the noise intensity data. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
