PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a comparatively compact thread loosening device for a sewing machine which improves stability in an operation by a pressure cylinder. SOLUTION: The thread loosening device for the sewing machine includes: a plate 2; two thread pressure boards 3; a rotary piece 4; the pressure cylinder 5; and a restoration unit 6. The thread pressure boards include: stereotaxic columns 31; adjustment units 34; pressurization pieces 35; carrier pieces 36; resilient units 37; and pin bodies 38. The rotary piece 4 is movably connected to the plate and includes a contact surface 42 on which one recessed tub 43 and one slide tub 44 are disposed. The pressure cylinder pushes and rotates the rotary piece, so as to rotate the recessed tub and the slide tub respectively and to be separated from the respective pin bodies. The respective pin bodies are brought into contact with the contact surface so as to be moved. Thread 7 runs between the pressurization pieces and the carrier pieces of the two thread pressure boards. When the pressure cylinder pushes the rotary piece, the pin bodies are brought into contact with the contact surface and moved. The recessed tub and the slide tub are sequentially moved and separated from the corresponding respective pin bodies. Pressurization force with respect to the pressurization pieces is released, the tension of the thread is controlled, and then, loosening holding adjustment is performed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
