<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device having a normally function means, in which the amplitude of an output signal is prevented from being decreased even when a digital circuit using unipolar transistors is employed. <P>SOLUTION: By turning off a diode-connected transistor 101, in a semiconductor device, a gate of a transistor 102 is brought into a floating state. At this time, the first transistor 102 is ON and a potential difference is incurred between the gate and a source. Since the transistor 102 is turned ON, a potential at the source of the transistor 102 is increased but a potential between the gate and the source is held by capacitance between the gate and the source of the transistor 102 and since the gate of the transistor 102 is floating, a potential at the gate of the transistor 102 is also increased by a capacitive coupling effect.
