PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable device having three modes of use depending on the slid state. SOLUTION: The portable device of this example includes a main unit 10 and a display unit 20 which are linked to each other in a manner which allows the main unit 10 and the display unit 20 to slide along a straight line within a predetermined slidable range, and a biasing member 50 which has one end linked to the main unit 10 and the other end linked to the display unit 20, and maintains the main unit 10 and the display unit 20 at opposite end positions or in-between positions. The biasing member 50 includes coil portions 51a and 51b wound in a coil, an arm portion 53a continuing from the coil portion 51a and linked to the main unit 10, an arm portion 53b continuing from the coil portion 51b and linked to the display unit 20, and a linking portion 55 linking the coil portions 51a and 51b.
