PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer for paper for multiple line printing, in which printing paper 3 is loaded as a line of numerous paper rolls 3A, with each of the paper rolls supplied in the form of a strip to a transfer path 5 to enable printing, and which is simple in configuration and excellent in operability allowing flexible operations, and a printing paper feed mechanism thereof. SOLUTION: The printer includes: a loading shaft 12 on which the rolls 3A of paper are loaded; roll core locks 14 for locking the cores 13 of the rolls in place; electromagnetic clutches 15 provided between the roll core locks 14 and the loading shaft 12; a feed drive motor 16 for driving and rotating the loading shaft 12; a control unit 11 which selectively operates either of the electromagnetic clutches 15 so that either of a line of numerous rolls of printing paper 3 can be selectively supplied as the roll core 13 thereof is integrated with the loading shaft 12; and a selective transfer unit 17 to transfer the printing paper 3 selectively supplied in the form of a strip from its roll shape on the loading shaft 12.
