PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a salt-made base material, and a method for manufacturing the salt-made base material, not impaired in appearance while holding a large number of salt-made tiles easily and surely. SOLUTION: The salt-made base material is formed by arranging the salt-made tiles 20 formed of salt, in parallel through joint spaces 24 on a lining material 10 formed of a large number of glass fibers into a cloth-like material, and interposing thermosetting resin 30 between the lining material 10 and the salt-made tiles 20 and in the joint spaces 24 so that the salt-made tiles 20 are stuck to the lining material 10 through the thermosetting resin 30.
