PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide formulations safe for humans and having a toxicological profile for lice. SOLUTION: The safe pediculicidal formulations comprising a spinosyn which is an agricultural insecticide but has excellent safety for humans and a toxicological profile, or a physiologically acceptable derivative or salt thereof are provided. Preferable formulations include hair care formulations such as shampoos, lotions and conditioners and methods use those hair care formulations for controlling lice infestations in humans.
