PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch with a moderation mechanism which includes strong holding force at a switching position, accuracy of the switching position and durability. SOLUTION: This switch with a moderation mechanism is structured of a turning operating part 20 and a fixed base part 40, and includes a plurality of switching positions. The operating part 20 formed from a soft raw material holds a hard moderation giving member 30 formed with a moderation giving recess 32 for determining the switching position and a pressure receiver surface 35 nearly crossing the turning direction of the operating part 20, and operating force is transmitted to the pressure receiver surface 35 through an abutment surface formed in the operating part 20 to turn the moderation giving member 30. The base part 40 of the switch with a moderation mechanism includes a spherical moderation giving projecting member 42 structured to move forward and backward relative to the moderation giving recess 32 and an energizing means 44 for energizing the moderation giving projecting member 42 toward the moderation giving recess 32.
