The device (10) has component modules comprising a control module (14), supply-and discharge air module (16), a filter module (28), blower- or ventilator modules (32, 38), sound damper module (44) and collection module (48). A heat exchanger is accommodated in a heat exchanger module (36) i.e. cross-counter flow heat exchanger module. The component modules are designed so that one of air streams (20, 24) is separated from the other stream. Operating components are held in the component modules, and are active during device operation. The operating components are assigned to one of the streams. The operating components are provided as a ventilator, a filter, an air moistener, a heating aggregate and flap arrangement. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a heat exchanger device.
