<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain image/voice communication between terminals connected to different networks, such as a line switching network or an IP network. <P>SOLUTION: A converting device 400 of control information or media information for image/voice communication is arranged between first and second terminals 301 and 302 connected to different networks. The converting device 400 includes a control information converting part 420, a transcoder 450 and a capability information converting part 460. When capability information, extracted from decoding information received from the first terminal 301, does not match the capability information extracted from calling control information received from the second terminal 302, whether screen sizes match is decided. When the image sizes match in any one direction, a portion of the decoding information or the control information is converted without making the transcoder 450 operated; and when the screen sizes do not match, the transcoder 450 is started to transform bit stream. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
