PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a complex communication modem capable of saving power while effectively keeping a necessary communication condition. SOLUTION: This invention relates to this complex communication modem 1, 2 capable of communicating with another modem via a plurality of types of different transmission lines 5, 6. The modem 1, 2 includes: a plurality of types of transmission/reception parts 10, 11 arranged for the respective transmission lines, and a packet relay part 12 of a multiport with the plurality of transmission/reception parts 10, 11 connected thereto. A control part 15 restricts a relay destination of a transfer packet to the first transmission/reception part 10 included in the plurality of transmission/reception parts 10, 11 in response to a packet transfer condition in the packet relay part 12, and executes a power saving mode for reducing power supply to the other transmission/reception part 11 included in the plurality of transmission/reception parts 10, 11.
