PURPOSE: A method for random access of wireless communication system and a device thereof are provided to differ initial transmission power of random access preamble from ramping according to the situation of a terminal performing an random access, thereby reducing the delay time of the random access. CONSTITUTION: A base station(120) transmits a preamble if the event which triggers a random access. If the decoding of the preamble is successful, the base station transmits a random access response a terminal(110). The terminal transmits the scheduled transmission message including a terminal identifier to the base station. The base station transmits the contention resolution message to the terminal.
