摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily protect the surface of an article from a contaminant by improving the surface structure thereof with respect to the article provided on a contaminated environment. SOLUTION: The surface-protective structure of the article containing a substrate is composed by chemically bonding, on the side of a substrate surface contacting the contaminated environment, a straight-chain polydimethylsiloxane which has two or three hydrolyzable functional groups at least one terminal and has 30 to 400 of dimethylsiloxane units, and a fluoroalkylsilane which has hydrolysable functional groups and 1 to 12 fluorocarbon units (CF<SB>2</SB>or CF<SB>3</SB>) through hydrolysis reaction. The mass ratio of straight-chain polydimethylsiloxane to fluoroalkylsilane before hydrolysis reaction is set to be 15:1 to 1:10, and the dimethylsiloxane unit and the fluorocarbon unit are exposed onto the surface of the article.
